SCHOOL NEWS
SUNDAY 18 JULY 2010: - KORYO BONNYRIGG 3 YEAR BIRTHDAY
It has been 3 years since we first opened up our doors at Bonnyrigg, and as a school, family and community we have achieved alot to be proud of. Our achievements and our success is due to the contribution, dedication and friendships of our students, our families and our friends. Each year as we celebrate another successful year of the school, we acknowledge and share the contributions of everyone who is part of the Koryo Martial Arts family.
This year, our birthday celebrations were bigger than ever, as we saw our friend and family celebrate with us at M9 Laser Skirmish Villawood. Our celebrations included games of laser skirmish, bowling and of course our cake cutting ceremony.
Here at Koryo Martial Arts, we thank you all for another great year, and we will endeavor to make each year even bigger and better.

SUNDAY 6 JUNE 2010: - BEN AND TRISH ATTEND THE TAEKWONDO NSW REFEREES SEMINAR
Ben and Trish are keen and passionate about contributing to the Taekwondo community in Australia, as such both Ben and Trish were happy participants in the recent Taekwondo NSW referee seminar. Both Ben and Trish are registered referees under Taekwondo Australia, and participate in a referee capacity at state championships.
The day consisted of a revision of centre referee skills, improving reaction times and assessments of scoring points for corner judges, and an open forum discussion on ways to improve the experience for referees, judges, competitors and their coaches. A highlight of the seminar focused on managing heated behaviour from coaches against referees and judges. The key message from our State Championship coordinators is that bad behaviour towards referees, judges and volunteers will not be tolerated, and that senior officials will continue to encourage both officials and participants to approach them to resolve problems and issues, as well as look to them for support and direction.
The next referee seminar is scheduled for Sunday 25 July, with the morning session being open to the greater taekwondo community. The cost for the morning session is $35, and Koryo Martial Arts students are welcome to attend. Please see Chief Instructor Benjamin to express your interest in attending.
